They wanted to have a system designed to reduce the characterization data analysis cycle time and to boost statistical analysis process using automated techniques
The Challenge
The challenge was to create a multi-user application system which would reduce the characterization data analysis cycle time and boost the statistical computation process using automated techniques. Multiple data sources existed, and lack of global data standardization meant repetitive tasks, lower tester efficiency, and design to volume production issues.
The system had to be scalable to process vast amounts of test data and to perform complex statistical operations on the data. Template driven web based reporting, and auto data loaders and transformation techniques were critically required.
The Solution
TriSoft was involved with this project, and designed a system that is tuned to process large volumes of Standard Test Data Format (STDF) data elements, and perform complex statistical operations on that data. Data Outliers, Statistical Analysis, Yield and Sigma Analysis, etc on a given set of semiconductor test data is provided. All Projects were delivered on schedule, e.g. TriSoft has helped the client's transition from the multiple environments to a single scalable SQL Server based environment well within schedule and on budget. TriSoft became a key partner in the Client's Software Development initiatives which included development and enhancements in the client's applications, Systems Integration, Data Migration etc.
The system is also inherently scalable and has the capability to process thousands of test data elements at one particular time. The Analysis engine based on Microsoft SQL Server allows testers to upload files which have an unlimited number of rows and each test element can have as many as 32,000 data points.
The developed system reduces the test data evaluation time, and report generation time for test engineering by up to 75%. Reporting that previously took 4 hours to collect, analyze, compile, and publish, now gets done within the hour.
TriSoft’s dedicated team of software analysts and engineers in Dallas Texas and offshore in Lahore, Pakistan spent over 12 months studying, analyzing, documenting, developing, and testing the system on multiple test platforms. It involved study and assessment of the clients systems and the business processes. TriSoft was able to architect and design the new system.
