PSEB is a guarantee limited company with a Board of Directors comprising representatives of the Government, industry associations and the private sector. PSEB is Government-owned, and promotes the image of the Pakistan IT industry in key markets abroad, enables trade interaction with international parties, and facilitates the entry of multi-national development and support centres into Pakistan.
Plans have been drawn up to build IT Parks in different cities. Currently over 750,000 square feet of land are employed in Software Technology Parks (STP) in eleven buildings across the country.To help the IT industry advance rapidly, Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB) has put an IT Strategic Framework (ITSF) into place. This strategic framework consists of four direct drivers - Marketing & PR, Human Resource Development, Office Space Provision and Telecom
Bandwidth Provision, and four indirect drivers - Public Policy, Finance, Certifications, and Facilitation.
PSEB sponsors quality and information security certification of IT companies in order to enhance their
international competitiveness. The quality certification program has been an outright instant success with
currently over 100 ISO-certified and a targeted 20 to 25 CMM-certified IT companies. Further, the cost of
certifications has dropped considerably due to the availability of trained local auditors.
