Policy Advocacy Manager

Policy Overview

The Policy Advocacy Manager will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to advocate for policies that align with the organization’s mission and goals. This includes conducting research on policy issues, building and maintaining relationships with key decision-makers, and working with a team to develop and execute advocacy campaigns. The Policy Advocacy Manager will also be responsible for developing and delivering presentations, writing reports and policy briefs, and representing the organization at public events and meetings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the development and implementation of strategies to advocate for policies that align with the organization’s mission and goals
  • Conduct research on policy issues and analyze the potential impact on the organization and its stakeholders
  • Work with a team to develop and execute advocacy campaigns, including developing materials, coordinating outreach efforts, and tracking progress
  • Draft press releases, presentations and administrative communications for stakeholders
  • Write reports and policy briefs on policy issues and the organization’s positions
  • Stay current on policy issues and developments, including attending relevant conferences and meetings
  • Collaborate with other departments within the organization to ensure alignment with advocacy efforts
  • Organize roundtables, webinars, and related events to consolidate feedback on priority policy issues
  • Draft position papers and policy proposals on priority matters for the IT and ITeS industry
  • Track progress of the policy developments with the government and input requests from different government departments

Eligibility/Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Policy, Political Science, Law, International Relations or a related field
  • 3-5 years of experience in research advocacy, policy, and media
  • Strong research and analytical skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information and present it in a clear and concise manner
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to present to large groups and write effectively for various audiences
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build and maintain relationships with key decision-makers and stakeholders
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Demonstrated ability to stay current on policy issues and developments
  • Experience in public speaking and testifying before legislative committees is a plus

Job Specifications

Reports to: Secretary-General

Salary Range: PKR 200-300k/month
*Salary will be based on experience and qualifications.
