On Day 1 of GITEX Global 2024, the HBL P@SHA partnership — alongside PSEB, SIFC, Tech Destination Pakistan, and TDAP — hosted Pakistan Night with the support of the Pak-UAE Embassy, showcasing Pakistan’s thriving IT sector to the Middle East’s largest tech exhibition.

On October 14, Day 1 of GITEX Global 2024 in Dubai, the HBL P@SHA partnership, alongside the Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB), the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC), Tech Destination Pakistan, and the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP), hosted Pakistan Night with the support of the Pak-UAE Embassy. The event showcased Pakistan’s thriving IT sector to an exhibition that drew over 6,500 exhibitors from 180+ countries.

The evening opened with a welcome address from Ali Zaib Khan, Commercial Counselor at the Pakistan Embassy in the UAE. Notable speakers included Umair Nizam, Senior Vice Chairman of P@SHA; Raheel Iqbal, Vice Chairman of P@SHA; and Zeeshan R. Khattak, CEO of PSEB, who emphasized the IT industry’s role as a catalyst for growth. Dr. Sohail Munir spoke about how Pakistan’s IT sector supports the UAE’s digital growth. The event closed with remarks from Faisal Niaz Tirmizi, Pakistan’s Ambassador to the UAE, who reflected on the significance of bilateral cooperation between the two countries.

The event provided excellent opportunities for fostering future collaborations between Pakistan and the UAE, alongside the same week’s inauguration of the Pakistan Pavilion, where around 80 Pakistani companies exhibited and Pakistan was recognized as GITEX’s official “Tech Destination of the Year.”
